Quality Assurance Engineer
Rapidly growing online managed services provider seeks a Quality Assurance Engineer. Position will be responsible for pre-release testing and certification of company-developed applications deployed in a managed services model. Applications handle high volume, mass-market web services processing. We are seeking individuals who are meticulous and detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence, and with a firm knowledge of software quality best practices.
Responsibilities
- The pre-release testing and certification of company-developed applications deployed in a managed services model
- The organization and maintenance of the customer test data archives
- The preparation and management of application test plans & schedules
- The direct testing and certification of the applications before their promotion to production status
- The creation & execution of the application lifecycle QA process
Skills
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in software development testing
- Strong commitment to quality, thorough and complete testing of software applications
- Strong personal accountability for their responsibilities
- Strong organizational skills & attention to detail
- Strong ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion
- Strong analytical and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and within aggressive schedules
- Good understanding of enterprise & internet software development methodologies and best practices
- Ability to work well with application development teams
- Planning, structuring, setting up & executing to completion all aspects of complex and extensive load & regression testing of software applications
- Reviewing, synthesizing, documenting and presenting detailed test results to development staff
- Assist in the configuration, management and maintenance of test assets
- Unix and/or Linux operating systems
- Unix shell scripting
- Experience with SQL-language relational databases (especially Oracle, MySQL)
Preferred Skills
- HTTP/S Web Application load & regression testing tool experience
- Java/C++ application test experience
- Experience with software requirements management tools (e.g. Poseidon, GForge, Rational, etc.)
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio or other organizational diagramming tool.
Education
- BS or equivalent experience
