Insurance Post: Resolve To Be Different: Complete Your Communications Goals In 2012

Each year, as December draws to an end, we sit around and begin compiling our list of resolutions - the things we intend to accomplish over the course of the next year. According to SMA's research, Insurers' are moving beyond cost cutting and focusing on initiatives that help them meet the changing demands of customers and capitalize on next generation technologies. Investments in these next generation technologies help support 4 key customer areas:

    • Customer Communications Management (CCM)
    • Improved user experience
    • Expanding the claims process and
    • Extending the customer relationship beyond the transaction

Insurers that can leverage the power of their investments in these areas will be at the top of the heap. The reality, though, is that most won't be able follow through due to the obstacles they face internally. One of the most common reasons for this failure is that internal resources are either scarce or competing with one another.
